IPL 2020, RCB vs MI: Ishan Kishan gets to fifty but MI are stuggling in their chase of 202.© BCCI/IPL

The required rate goes into the realm of the near-impossible even as Ishan Kishan gets the sixes going and brings up his fifty. Mumbai Indians have been trying to get out of the hold that Royal Challengers Bangalore have maintained on them with the ball. However, Kishan loses Hardik Pandya, who was supposed to attack from the other end, as the right-hander holes out in the deep off Adam Zampa. Washington Sundar got Rohit Sharma caught in the deep and Isuru Udana dismissed Suryakumar Yadav caught behind as RCB got two early wickets in their defence of 201. Quinton de Kock struggled for 14 off 15 and soon holed out to Negi off Yuzvendra Chahal as MI lost their third wicket. Earlier, RCB posted 201/3 against MI)in Match 10 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. (LIVE SCORECARD)

IPL 2020 Live Score Between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians at Dubai International Cricket Stadium

  • 23:01 (IST)

    Chahal to Pollard.

Pollard hammers the first ball of the 18th over covers for six.

  • 23:00 (IST)

    Dropped! You DON’T drop Pollard!

Yuzi Chahal, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Pollard mishits, finally, and the outside edge takes the ball towards Chahal stationed at short third man.

Chahal runs backwards and leaps forward, but he is nowhere close to the ball. It was a simple chance that went down.

  • 22:58 (IST)

    Pollard has gone berserk!

Zampa bowls too full, right under Pollard’s bat, and the batsman hits that high and long over long-on for a HUGE SIX!

    56 off 19!

  • 22:56 (IST)

    SIX! Pollard Power!

    What’s happening here?!

Zampa goes short and Pollard hammers that for a 97-metre six over mid-wicket.

    The chase is on!

  • 22:56 (IST)

Negi lets one go through for six right through his hands. Is this a sign for Mumbai? He had held on to three catches tonight but missed this one.

A wide ball outside off is smashed over covers for six.

  • 22:55 (IST)

Zampa to Pollard. Smashed straight down the ground for four.

16 more needed off this over to maintain the current asking rate.

  • 22:53 (IST)

Last four overs – 80 needed to win

Mumbai have left themselves with too much to get in the final four overs.

Yes, only yesterday Rahul Tewatia pulled off a heist but not everyday do you get miracles in cricket.

MI fans, though, wouldn’t agree with the naysayers until Pollard is at the crease. And Kishan too.

  • 22:46 (IST)

Chahal keeps this one wide of off stump, almost out of Pollard’s reach, but the big man gets some serious muscle behind it to hit it for four

However, that could have led to his dismissal as well as Padikkal came running in from the fence and dived face-first to to grab the ball that was dying on him, a few yards inside the rope.

He failed to hold on but got a thumbs-up by Kohli for the effort.

  • 22:44 (IST)

Kishan launches one deep into the mid-wicket stand for six.

He cleared his front leg and smashed a short-ish delivery from Chahal with fierce power.

  • 22:38 (IST)

    SIX! 50 for Kishan!

Fifty for Kishan with a slog over mid-wicket for six.

Kishan has raised his 50 off 39 balls but has that helped Mumbai’s cause?

MI need 104 off just 36 balls.

It’s getting into the realm of the impossible.

  • 22:36 (IST)

    No momentum for Mumbai

The big hitters Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard haven’t been able to get a move on here.

RCB are bowling to their plans and Mumbai are sinking further and further into a quicksand of ridiculous asking rates.

Last five overs have yielded just 35 runs and one wicket.

  • 22:31 (IST)

  • 22:29 (IST)

    Mumbai rely on Pollard Power

Kieron Pollard has arrived at the crease and Mumbai would hope he stays longer than Hardik did and takes MI closer to the target.

The required rate has crossed 15 an over. MI need to go big, and they need to do so now.

  • 22:23 (IST)

    Hardik c (sub) Negi b Zampa 15 (13)

    Another HUGE wicket!

Negi is having a day to remember as a substitute fielder. He takes the third catch of the evening and Hardik has to go back.

The ball was full and Hardik went for the slog over mid-wicket, but couldn’t get the power behind the shot.

Negi takes another one cleanly and MI are four down.

  • 22:18 (IST)

    Kishan gets the sixes going!

This is the second of the over as Kishan decides to target Saini here.

  • 22:17 (IST)

Saini returns and Kishan hammers the first ball for six.

This is hit straight over the bowler’s head and lands the ball deep into the stands behind the sight screen.

  • 22:14 (IST)

Sundar finishes off his quota – 4-0-12-1

This could be a match-defining effort by Sundar.

He finishes his quota of four overs with figures of 1/12. He got the prized wicket of Rohit Sharma to get things going for RCB.

  • 22:08 (IST)

    Chahal spins his web

It’s been an evening of the spinners for RCB.

Sundar tied down MI in the Powerplay and Chahal is doing the same job after the field restrictions have eased.

He has given away just 12 runs in 2 overs so far in return for the wicket of de Kock.

  • 22:04 (IST)

    50 up for Mumbai Indians!

Mumbai have brought up their 50 in 8 overs.

They have lost three wickets on the way and need to score at 12.5 runs per over from here on.

  • 22:03 (IST)

    SIX! Hardik has arrived!

Zampa bowls a low full toss to Hardik and the batsman launches it long over mid-wicket for his first six.

Hopefully it’s the first of many sixes, MI would hope.

  • 21:57 (IST)

WICKET! Quinton de Kock c Negi b Chahal 14 (15)

The struggle ends for de Kock as he holes out in the deep to Negi.

Chahal gets a wicket in his very first over as MI sink deeper into trouble.

This was the conventional leg break but bowled slower. De Kock had to hit it powerfully over the leg side but he didn’t get enough on it.

Negi takes his second catch of the match and MI are three down!

  • 21:52 (IST)

    Sensational Sundar!

Sundar has kept it simple, attacked the stumps and given the MI batsman absolutely no room to play with.

He has given away just seven runs in three overs.

Powerplay is done. Mumbai are 35/2.

  • 21:48 (IST)

RCB maintain her hold on MI

A six and just one more single in the fifth over bowled by Saini.

Mumbai have not been able to get any kind of momentum in the innings so far.

  • 21:45 (IST)

Navdeep Saini arrives to bowl and Kishan sends a short ball sailing over square leg for six.

Mumbai may look to attack Saini here and make the best of the last two overs in the Powerplay.

  • 21:42 (IST)

    Excellent over by Sundar!

Just one run came off the fourth over as Sundar keeps the left-handers – de Kock and Kishan – tied to the crease.

Mumbai need to break the shackles.

  • 21:37 (IST)

Ishan Kishan arrives and hammers his first ball for four!

Short and wide by Udana and Kishan cuts it square of the wicket for four.

What a start by the left-hander.

  • 21:36 (IST)

    WICKET! Suryakumar c de Villiers b Udana 0 (2)

    Another wicket!

Udana gets in the wickets column by getting Suryakumar Yadav, only one ball old, caught behind.

The ball hung outside off and was back of a length. Suryakumar looked to guide it down to third man, but only managed to edge it behind to de Villiers.

  • 21:31 (IST)

    WICKET! Rohit c (sub) Negi b Sundar 8 (8)

Sundar gets Rohit in the second over.

The off-spinner forces Rohit to play towards the longer side of the ground as Rohit fails to middle the ball properly.

He goes through the pull short nevetheless to a ball that wasn’t all that short and holes out to substitute Pawan Negi in the deep.

  • 21:30 (IST)

Washington Sundar shares the new ball

Washington Sundar has bowled in the Powerplay consistently. He has been given the ball here to try and eke out a wicket for RCB.

  • 21:27 (IST)

Quinton de Kock gets going as well as Udana bowls one too wide and too full. De Kock drives it through the covers for four.

  • 21:26 (IST)

Rohit gets Mumbai going with a six!

Udana goes short and Rohit pulls it over square leg for six.

Bad ball, dispatched with glee by Rohit.

  • 21:23 (IST)

    We’re ready for Mumbai’s reply!

Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock are out in the middle to open the batting for Mumbai.

Isuru Udana will bowl the first over for RCB.

  • 21:08 (IST)

SIX! 200 for RCB on the last ball!

Dube finishes the innings with a SIX! He hammers the last ball over the bowler’s head for another six and pop the score over 200.

RCB finish on 201/3 and one thing it certain – they have risen up to the challenge in Dubai.

AB de Villiers finishes on 55 off just 24 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Will MI be able to chase this down? Stay tuned to find out.

  • 21:06 (IST)

Dube goes big – SIX! SIX!

Pattinson bowls one outside off and full in length. Dube hammers it over wide long off for six.

Pattinson follows it up with one on the legs and Dube just picks it up and deposits it over mid-wicket for another six.

    Dube is going berserk here!

  • 21:03 (IST)

50 for AB de Villiers! And that’s INTO THE ORBIT!

Bumrah goes short and AB de Villiers sends this one deep into the stands at the Dubai stadium to bring up his 50 off just 23 balls.

He has hit 4 fours and 4 gigantic sixes.

Last over coming up. How many will RCB get?

  • 21:00 (IST)

AB de Villiers continues to dominate Bumrah.

It’s a low full toss as Bumrah misses his yorker length again, and ABD hammers it straight down the ground for four.

  • 20:58 (IST)

Boult had bowled a good over until the last ball when he made the mistake of bowling short to AB de Villiers.

The batsman pulls it over square leg for another HUGE six!

  • 20:55 (IST)

  • 20:54 (IST)

    WICKET! Padikkal c Pollard b Boult 54 (40)

Boult bowls a slower one and the variation works as it brings the wicket of a well-set Padikkal.

The left-hander hits it high and long towards mid-wicket but not long enough and Pollard takes a good running catch in the deep.

Will this wicket slow RCB down at the death?

  • 20:52 (IST)

    SIX! HUGE! ABD smashes Bumrah!

    Bumrah misses his length, again.

AB de Villiers hammers it, AGAIN!

This time the South African superstar goes over the bowler’s head for a HUGE six!
